Definition Health is proud to announce its selection to join the UK-Florida Life Sciences Trade Corridor, an initiative led by the UK Department for Business and Trade to foster economic cooperation between the UK and the US state of Florida. This corridor connects innovative UK companies with Florida’s rapidly growing life sciences ecosystem, promoting cross-border collaboration, investment opportunities, and advanced healthcare solutions. As one of only 30 UK companies chosen, Definition Health will expand its influence, connect with key players in the US life sciences sector, and explore new growth opportunities.
This collaboration gives us access to cutting-edge research and insights from leading US life sciences hubs, opening new markets in Florida and beyond. By partnering with global healthcare leaders, we will form strategic relationships that enhance our ability to deliver innovative digital health solutions on an international scale.
The UK-Florida Life Sciences Trade Corridor fosters collaboration between UK companies and Florida’s dynamic life sciences industry. Recognised as a leader in biotech and medical device manufacturing, Florida offers UK companies a gateway to its expanding healthcare market. This programme aligns closely with our mission to transform surgical care through personalised digital health solutions that engage patients, empower clinicians, and enhance health outcomes. By participating, we are well-positioned to develop solutions that improve patient care and streamline clinical workflows globally.

Our involvement in the corridor began with the official launch in July 2024 at the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office in Whitehall, London. The event brought together key figures from both sides of the Atlantic, including Florida’s Lieutenant Governor Jeanette Nuñez and UK Consul General in Miami, Rufus Drabble.
Dr Rosie Scott, Co-founder and Medical Director of Definition Health, represented the company at the launch. Reflecting on the programme, Dr. Scott said, “This partnership provides a unique opportunity for us to collaborate with global leaders and bring our innovative digital solutions to new markets. As a clinician, I’m particularly excited about the potential to improve patient outcomes and streamline surgical care in both the UK and the US. As part of this initiative, we will join a UK delegation visit to Florida from 9-14 September 2024. This week-long engagement includes educational and commercial activities across Orlando, Tampa, and Miami. This visit continues our strategic involvement in the area, building on a series of successful Florida-based initiatives.
Earlier this year, we joined the Tampa Bay Wave HealthTech|X Accelerator Programme, a business accelerator supporting high-growth tech companies. This programme helped us access valuable resources and networks in the US market. In addition, We significantly advanced our US expansion through our participation in the ABHI Florida Trade Mission, facilitating new partnerships and collaborations. These earlier initiatives laid the foundation for our expanded involvement in Florida’s healthcare ecosystem, culminating in our selection for the UK-Florida Life Sciences Trade Corridor.
These initiatives demonstrate our commitment to building a strong presence in Florida, and joining the UK-Florida Life Sciences Trade Corridor further reinforces our dedication to expanding within the state.
